MODERN SLAVERY ACT STATEMENT
Rim-Mix Limited upholds the principles of the United Nation’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Rim-Mix Limited complies with all labour legislation in countries of operation and undertakes to apply the principles of the following international conventions:
- International Labour Organisation (ILO) Convention 14 guaranteeing a weekly rest period of at least 24 consecutive hours
- ILO Conventions 29 and 105 forbidding the use of forced labour
- ILO Conventions covering the prohibition of child labour and minimum working ages
Commitments
Rim-Mix Limited expressly undertakes to:
- Refrain from the illegal employment or trafficking of migrant workers
- Ensure equal professional opportunities and treatment of workers through non-discrimination on the grounds of ethnic origin, sex, age, sexual orientation, trade-union membership, personal political or religious beliefs; and endeavours to provide a working environment to encourage the employment of people with disabilities
- Foster the development of social dialogue and collective bargaining by encouraging freedom of expression and association
- Operate a health protection system within the applicable statutory requirements
- Provide a safe, healthy working environment for all employees
In particular
- To avoid the use of child labour in accordance with applicable national standards and the principles of international conventions
- To avoid the use of forced labour in accordance with applicable national standards and the principles of international conventions
- To ensure safe and healthy working conditions for works with the aim of avoiding risks and preventing accidents
- To recognise workers union rights, freedom of expression and freedom of association
- To foster the development of collective negotiation and dialogue with employee representatives
- To ensure equal treatment for all works in particular with regard to salaries, recruitment, professional training, promotion and working conditions irrespective of criteria such as ethnic origin, sexual orientation, gender, age, union membership and political and religious views
- To maintain precise and comprehensive disciplinary practices and procedures
- To guarantee minimum pay for works in accordance with applicable national standards and statutory regulations
- To ensure our suppliers and subcontractors comply with the standards and regulations above
Environmental and Operational Measures
In addition, Rim-Mix Limited takes all appropriate measure to:
- Ensure our operations comply with all applicable environmental legislation
- Limit the environmental impact of operation particularly by reducing consumption of energy and natural resources producing less waste and managing emissions and all other forms of pollution
- Prevent and mitigate environmental and health risks in relation to hazardous materials, emissions and radiation
- Promote employee awareness of our environmental policies
In particular
- To identify health and environmental risks associated with activities, products and services and implemented the appropriate measures
- Provide information, awareness and training to employees in relation to environmental risks and initiatives and to customers where appropriate
