Polyurethane Mixing Machinery

02. Low Pressure Range

The Rim-Mix range of low-pressure metering machines represents a major advancement in low-pressure mixing technology and is available
in a wide range of outputs to cover all applications.

Rim-Mix Series

The Rim-Mix series has been designed to ensure maximum reliability, excellent mixing capability and metering accuracy.
The controls have been designed with the operator in mind for simple, easy operation and maintenance procedures.

Customisation

We specialise in fully customised foaming systems tailored to your needs. From concept to completion, we work with you at every step to design a solution that fits your process, capacity, and operational goals.

04. Boom Balance Arrangement

The Rim-Mix standard mix head support is by boom balance; alternatives are available depending on customer requirements.

05. Chemical Component Vessels

Silica gel breather on isocyanate and polyol tanks reduces moisture ingress. Standard fittings for
optional equipment, including a capacitance level probe and an agitator. Each tank is flanged and fitted with a removable lid for manual loading.

06. Pump Metering Group

Accurate component metering by a high-precision volumetric gear pump with Viton double rotary
shaft seal. Maximum working pressure 15bar. Output adjusted by a variable speed inverter, monitoring and controlling the pump. Chemical component ratio variation 1:4 to 4:1 via the inverter.

07. Temperature Conditioning

Steel tube nest heat exchangers are standard on the Rim-Mix range, with an optional chilling unit available to maintain chemical component temperatures, ensuring optimal viscosity and consistent product quality.

08. Dispensing Head

The core of the system

A mix head of simple robust design provides the operator with a rapid switch from recycle to pour. The ability to adjust pressure directly at the mix head ensures quality mixing without surge. The D Series of multi-component mix heads are available with mechanical mixers of a variety of designs and is specified depending on process material.

10. Digital Reading

Standard

Pressure Gauges

Digital pressure gauge for visual display of working pressure, complete with 2-point contact (high pressure – minimum pressure) for added safety, fitted to both isocyanate and polyol metering lines to prevent over-pressure situations.

Standard

Level Sensors

Liquid level sensor for continuous monitoring of tank contents, providing an accurate visual indication of material levels. Fitted to the system to ensure a consistent supply to the metering lines and prevent low-level or overfill conditions.

Standard

Temperature Sensors

Liquid temperature sensor for continuous monitoring of process temperature, providing reliable measurement to maintain optimal material conditions. Fitted to ensure stable operation and prevent temperature-related process deviations.

11. Electrical Control System

Standard

Siemens S7 series PLC

Siemens S7 series PLC with colour HMI touchscreen for clear visual display of all machine and process parameters. The screen provides real-time monitoring of program details, motor speeds, chemical levels, and temperatures, along with ratio control, shot time, and system status. Designed to give operators full visibility and precise control of the process, ensuring consistent performance and safe operation.

12. Cleaning

Standard

Solvent Circuit

Cleaning is an essential part of machine function once the reaction has occurred. A pressurised stainless steel 18 litre tank ensures solvent delivery by a dedicated steel braid hose fitted with a sliding exhaust valve, a manual decompression valve and a minimum level alarm.

Optional

Hot Water Wash

If required, a hot water wash system can be offered as a more environmentally friendly alternative to chemical cleaning agents such as methylene chloride and similar solvents. This provides an effective cleaning solution while reducing reliance on harsh chemicals and maintaining reliable system performance.

13. Auto Chemical Loading

Standard

Automatic Chemical Loading

Automatic chemical loading from drums or IBCs to the machine tank using a double-diaphragm pump. The system maintains the preset tank level at all times, ensuring uninterrupted operation and preventing the risk of running out of material.

Optional

Solvent Dispensing

Delivers cleaning solvent directly from drums or barrels to the point of use. Eliminates manual tank filling, ensures consistent flow, and simplifies chemical handling for safer, uninterrupted operation.
